Information we collect

We collect:

• Account information — your name and email address, handled through our authentication provider when you create an account.
• Wedding details you provide — things like your wedding date, city, budget, style preferences, vendors, checklist, and registry.
• Guest information you add — names, and optionally emails, mailing addresses, RSVPs, and dietary notes for the guests you choose to manage. You are responsible for having permission to add this information (see our Terms).
• Content you upload — photos and notes you or your guests add to your wedding album or website.
• Usage & device data — basic, standard information such as pages viewed and device/browser type, used to operate and improve the Service.

How we use information

We use your information to build and run your wedding plan, recommend local vendors, manage your guests and registry, send wedding-related emails you request (such as save- the-dates and invitations), keep the Service secure, and improve our product. We do not sell your personal information.

Cookies, tracking & affiliate links

We use essential cookies to keep you signed in and to operate the Service. We also participate in affiliate programs. When you click a link to a partner retailer (for example, a registry gift or a printed-invitation partner such as Minted), that link may be an affiliate link, and our affiliate partners (including impact.com) may set a cookie to attribute any resulting purchase to us so that we can earn a commission.

Affiliate disclosure: WeddingBuddy is a participant in affiliate programs. Some links to retailers are affiliate links, and we may earn a commission on qualifying purchases made through them, at no additional cost to you. This never affects which products we recommend or the price you pay.

How we share information

We share information only with service providers that help us run the Service, under contract and only as needed — for example, hosting and infrastructure, our database provider, authentication, transactional email, mapping/business search, and our affiliate network. We may also share information if required by law or to protect our rights. We do not sell your personal information.

Data retention

We keep your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service, and then delete or anonymize it within a reasonable period, unless we are required to keep it longer by law.

Your choices

You can access, correct, or delete the personal information associated with your account by emailing us at hello@weddingbuddy.xyz. You can opt out of non-essential emails at any time using the link in those emails or by contacting us.

Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information, including encrypted connections and access controls. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure, but we work hard to keep your data safe.

Children

The Service is intended for adults planning a wedding and is not directed to children under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date above, and significant changes will be reflected here.
